Strategic rationale for the appointment Board renewal was a key outcome of the Company’s 100-day plan. The skills of the outgoing directors were highly valued while Impact Minerals was principally an explorer. As the Company’s focus has moved to materials processing, a different mix of board skills is required. Impact Minerals is also becoming more complex financially, and its team is growing. Dr Weldon’s accounting, audit and governance experience is well suited to this next phase. About Dr Lana Weldon Dr Weldon has more than 30 years’ experience in accounting, audit and business advisory. She trained in Big 4 accounting firms and was a partner of a chartered accounting firm in South Africa and senior executive in Australia. She also has extensive experience in governance, consulting and education, including non-executive director roles with a range of organisations and service as Chair of an Audit Committee. Dr Weldon is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), an honour awarded primarily in recognition of her commitment to the education and development of chartered accountants over her 30-year career. A passionate advocate for people development, Dr Weldon has pursued this through her research and her involvement with professional and academic accounting bodies. She has mentored many young professionals and trained mentors globally within the sector. She holds a PhD in Accounting Education, an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Accounting.
